Nikki Sims
Nikki is a full time artist producing vibrant, lively themes in bright, resonant colours. She paints in mixed-media and oils, concentrating on the visual aesthetic resulting from the fusing of texture and colour.
Using sketches and photographs for inspiration, recent collections have been expressionistic sea and landscapes. Quirky camper vans (an obsession since travelling in one for her wedding in 2012) have created much interest and popularity.
Nikki also tutors art from her studio enjoying the opportunity to inspire others with her creativity and her passion for art
Following an Art Foundation at North Essex, Nikki gained her degree in Textiles at the South London College of Ravensbourne. After graduating, Nikki spent some years working in the fashion industry designing prints for Gloria Vanderbilt, Marks and Spencer, Gap and the Burton Group and later working with David Emanuel, London.
From 1992-2002 Nikki ran her own interior design consultancy. After a successful decade she was able to dedicate her working life to her true passion, Fine Art, which she feels has been enriched by her career in textiles and the interior.
