Barnaby Haslam

The work contains a perfect balance between traditional and modern, with bright colours, gold outlines and harmonious compositions.

The vision is original and uses a visual language of shapes to illustrate timeless subjects.

The work is very English; not only in drawing from styles from the rest of the world but it also owes a lot to medieval manuscript illumination.

Inspirations include William Blake and  Samuel Palmer and corporate graphic design.

The subject of work ranges from 'family romance', Christianity, Greek myth, and other literature. The pictures illustrate timeless human dramas. Each work is titled as well, to aid understanding.

The paintings are done in quality materials; the paper is hand made in India from recycled cotton rag, and is called Khadi paper.
